1. Mallard ducks like our pool. A lot.
2. Guitar Hero World Tour: Best video game ever.
3. Buying the child an iPod: Good move, went over well, except for the fact that he will never communicate with me again.
4. My mother really, really doesn’t want me to drive. Why?
5. Diet Coke with Splenda kind of sucks. I like my brain-shriveling aspartame, thankyouverymuch.
6. I like avocado a whole big lot. This is probably because it’s fattening.
7. I don’t own any socket wrenches and therefore cannot install our new basketball hoop.
8. I have nothing of consequence to blog about.
Happy Tuesday.

Hey Jen – I’m usually just a quiet lurker around here, but I’ve been reading your blog for, gosh, like 10 years or something and about once every 4 years, it’s time to leave a comment
It’s weird because when you’ve been reading someone’s posts for so long, you feel like you begin to “know” them via this amazing internet thang…
I also purchased one of your awesome little books quite a few years ago, and my husband and I still read it and openly guffawed at your hilarity and razor sharp wit
I had to say how delighted (and floored) I am to hear about your recovery! I am loathe to say “miracle,” but if the shoe fits, Virginia…It is amazing and wonderful. I am just really, really happy for you and J-man. Kind of like you are born again without the pesky religion part of it.
Just happy for you, Jen! Keep on keepin’ on
Got the CD, Moby is possibly the best opening tune on any cd, ever. Boyfriend is British and swears that there’s a song on there that sounds like Manic Street Preachers, a Welsh band, but with no song list, sadly, it only makes for lively debate in the car. Thanks again, I’d like to send something back but I think I chucked the packaging envelope :/
jen, i have to tell you that i have a quote from your journal on my facebook under “favorite quotes” along with a shameless plug for your website.
lisa don’t worry, i am in your exact same boat with the frequent lurking and infrequent commenting…:-)
what book are you referring to?!
Avacodos have 11 grams of fiber and are full of polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats.
very good for you
Your mother is scared, either that something will happen (like a seizure) and you’ll get hurt, or else that you’ll get your license again and then something will happen so you can’t drive and you’ll be totally crushed.
At least, that’s my bet.
I think I agree with Dichroic. I can *still* remember your entry about watching the old car being taken away and how it affected you.
How did the hotel party turn out? (My friend has a 10-year-old daughter and I suggested her Mom do the same thing after getting the idea from you. She was out of ideas.)
For the last month or so I’ve been eating one avocado a day…(smashed up with salsa..garlic and lime juice). My hair and skin have never looked so healthy! true.. they are high in calories and fat…but it’s all good, heart healthy omega-3 fats. They are one of nature’s perfect foods so keep eating them!
Thank you all for the nice sentiments. Seriously.
Tara, that is the Manic Street Preachers you’re thinking of. I LOVE that song…
Guitar hero is a great pastime, we have typical family night time alongside one another and enjoy.
